Ferozepur, April 30, 2013: Charanjit Kaur, Chairperson, of Red Cross Society (Women Wing) along with 8 dedicated members visited Home for the Blinds and offered bed sheets/pillow covers besides promise to make efforts for helping the institution in kind in the form of ration.
Home for the Blind is an institution established in 1954 to look after the blinds from all parts of the country irrespective of caste and creed under the patronage of Dr. Sandhu Chand Vinayak, MBBS a renowned philanthropist of his time. The institution is looking after 25 blind inmates by providing them free lodging and boarding and education.
The institution is being run with the volunteer donations with the efforts of its dedicated members but there is only a small amount of financial grant from the government every year that not regularly.
