Chandigarh, April 2: Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) has taken a major step forward in its endeavour to put up Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) Power Projects in MW scale in the state by inviting bids through Competitive Bidding for 300 MW SPV Power Projects on Build, Own, Operate (BOO) basis, to be setup at various locations in the state of Punjab.
Stating this here today, a spokesman of PEDA said that the state has a major potential in generating power from Solar Energy as 330 days of clear sunshine with solar insolation between 4-7 kwh / Sq. mtr. is available. A pre-bid conference is being held at 11:30 A.M. on April 3, 2013 at CII, Sector- 31 Chandigarh with a view to reply to the queries of the interested bidder/companies.
According to T.P.S. Sidhu, Chief Executive, PEDA, various renowned international / national companies, have expressed their keen desire to participate in the bidding process and even major bankers have been invited to attend this pre-bid conference.
Anirudh Tewari, Secretary, Power and NCES would chair the pre-bid session, he added.
