Chandigarh, June 23, 2014: Punjab Irrigation Department has announced rotational Program for irrigation for the Kharif Season through canal water from 23-06-2014 to 30-06-2014. The channels and branches off-taking from Ropar Head Works, the channels of Sirhind Canal System would run on the priority basis from Bathinda Branch, Bist Doab canal, Sidhwan Branch, Abohar Branch and Patiala Feeder, respectively.
Disclosing this here, an official spokesperson of the Irrigation Department said that Direct Distributaries of BML, in Group A, being in the first preference, would run to their indent. Balance water supplies available, would be utilized in Ghaggar Branch and Patiala Minor in Group B.
He said that Punjab channels and branches off-taking from Harike and Ferozpur Head Works, all the Direct Distributaries of Sirhind Feeder in Group A, being in first preference, would run to their indent. Balance water supplies available, would be utilized Abohar Branch off-taking from Sirhind Feeder and its distributaries/minors, in Group B.
The spokesman further said that the in the Upper Bari Doab Canal system, Kasur Branch Lower with its distributaries, being in the first preference, would run to their indent. Balance water supplies available, would be utilized in, Sabhroan Branch, Lahore Branch and Main Branch Lower with their distributaries, respectively.
