Chandigarh, September 3, 2013: A Spokesman of the Finance Department of Punjab today strongly contradicted the News Item published in section of press that the Punjab Government held back the salaries of all its employees for the month of August, 2013.
The Spokesman clarified that no such instructions have been issued to any Treasury officer of the State and all salaries are being released as and when the bills being submitted by various departments. He said that the Punjab Government had already released salaries to the tune of Rs.500 crore so far and the remaining salaries will also be released in time.
