Chandigarh, June 13, 2013: In a move to enhance accessibility of the information pertaining to government accommodation in Chandigarh, Shivraj V. Patil, Administrator, UT Chandigarh launched the House Allotment Committee Information Kiosk at a function organised at Punjab Raj Bhavan today. The information kiosk which is first of its kind is an initiative of House Allotment Committee, Department of IT in collaboration with NIC.
Data of over 13500 houses in various categories in Chandigarh pertaining to the employees of Chandigarh Administration, Punjab and Haryana Governments and the Punjab and Haryana High Court would be available on the kiosk.
The web based system has been developed by NIC and provides real-time information regarding the Seniority list, vacancy position and allotments of government houses. The application has integrated the workflows of House Allotment Committee with Engineering Department and Rent Controller Office and is also linked with SMS Gateway. The touch-sensitive information kiosk works as an extension of the web based system so that the employees who do not have Internet access can get the desired information. The kiosk also enables the users to run a name based search for fetching information pertaining to them.
This kiosk would be placed at the Estate Office in Sector 17 and the employees would be able to access the information at their convenience.
