Madan Mohan Mittal, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Punjab handing over appointment letters to newly appointed Unani Medical officers at Chandigarh on Tuesday.
Chandigarh, June 4, 2013: In an effort to strengthen Indian Medical Science Punjab Government recruits four Unani Medical officers. While handing over appointment letters to newly appointed Unani Medical officers here today Madan Mohan Mittal Minister for Health and Family Welfare said that these officers have been posted in Primary Health Centres of the state. He said that it is a step towards strengthening ages old Indian Medical Science as this system does not have any side effects and people would benefit more from this system.
At a simple function organised to congratulate these newly appointed Unani Medical officers Mittal said that it is for the first time that Unani Medical officers are appointed in the state. He added that the Punjab Government is focusing on to develop Indian Medical Science in the state and more recruitment would be done soon. Minister said that for this Ayuarvedic department has recruited 200 Ayuarvedic Officers and 182 Upp Vaids earlier.
Mittal further said that under National Rural Health Mission department has completed the process to recruit 29 Ayuarvedic officers and 34 Upp Vaids. He said that Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot is soon going to conduct written test for these posts and within one and half month new doctors would be appointed.
Doctors who got appointment letters today are Dr. Mohamad Hamid, Dr. Ayesha, Mohamad Akmal and Dr. Mohamad Awesh, they have been posted at Primary Healths centre at Palheri, District Mohali, Lalaru, District Mohali, Shermajra District Sangrur and Chanarthal District Fatehgarh Sahib respectively.
Others prominent present at the occasion were Raj Kamal Chaudhary Managing Director cum Commissioner NHRM, Punjab, Dr. Rakesh Sharma Director Ayuarvedic Department Punjab, Dr. Bakshish Singh Joint Director and Dr. Ramesh Sharda Head Homeopathic Department, Punjab.
