
Havan yajna being performed to oberve the 27th death avviversary of former Punjab minister Manmohan Kaila’s as “Sadhbhawana Divas” at Geeta Mandir, Jalandhar, on Sunday.
Jalandhar, June 2, 2013: Former Punjab minister Manmohan Kaila’s 27th death anniversary was observed as “Sadhbhawana Divas” at Geeta Mandir here on Sunday.
Havan yajna was performed. Among others, Manmohan Kaila’s son and BJP national executive member Manoranjan Kalia MLA, grandson Mannu Sharma, daughters Nandani Sharma and Mohin Rumpal, granddaughter Aditi Sharma, Vasdev Mishra and others were present.
With the recital of Gayatri Mantra the Havan Yajna was concluded.

Manmohan Kalia was a staunch RSS worker and a leader of Bharatiya Jan Sangh, Janata Party and the BJP. He was committed to the social service. He was first elected to Punjab Assembly in 1967, 1969, 1977, and 1986 and remained Punjab Cabinet Minister two times. He was colleague of the then BJP leaders including Dr Baldev Parkash, Babu Hit Abhilashi, Yagya Dutt Sharma and Thakur Ganpat Rai. He was closely associated to SAD Parkash Singh Badal, Jagdev Singh Talwandi and Gurcharan Singh Tohra. He remained in jail during Emergency. He was coming back from Chandigarh when he met with a fatal accident opposite Jalandhar Cantt railway station on the Grand Trunk Road and died.
