PUNJAB introduces Maharaja Ranjit Singh vocational skill improvement scheme

Chandigarh, May 22, 2013:  The Punjab Government today announced a new scheme to increase employability of educated unemployed youth named as Maharaja Ranjit Singh Vocational Skill Scheme.

According to a Spokesperson of Chief Minister Office, under the one of its own kind scheme finalised by the Punjab Government any educated youth between the age of 17 and 30 desirous for improving his vocational skill can opt for this scheme. He said that the youth with annual family income less than Rs. 1.5 lakh can opt for Skill Improvement Vocational Course from 3 months to 12 months duration in a reputed institutes and youth would have to give self-declaration regarding the income of the family. The spokesman said that Rs. 1000 per month employability allowance would be directly credited online in the account of that vocational institution.

The Spokesman said that desirous students can apply for this scheme in the nearest Bureau of Employment Generation Department.
