BAWA left for New Jersey

Baba Banda Singh Bahadar International Foundation’s president Krishan Kumar Bawa being given warm send off for his participation in the historic 303rd Sirhind Fateh Diwas in New Jersey (USA) from his Gill Road office at Ludhiana on Friday.

Ludhiana, May 10, 2013: Baba Banda Singh Bahadar International Foundation’s president Krishan Kumar Bawa left for his participation in the historic 303rd Sirhind Fateh Diwas in New Jersey (USA) from his Gill Road office here today.

On the occasion, the foundation’s patrons former Punjab Minister Malkit Singh Dakha, Jagdev Singh Jassowal and Bairagi Mahan Mandal Punjab chairman Hari Dass Bawa were among those present on the occasion. The gathering garlanded Krishan Kumar Bawa and offered him sweets to give a warm send off.

Briefing to the media persons, Bawa told that this was for the first time that a massive function was being organised to celebrate 303rd Sirhind Fateh Diwas in New Jersey (USA) on May 12 by Baba Banda Singh Bahadar International Foundation’s US president Gurmeet Singh Gill, chairman Mandeep Singh Haans, convener Bahadar Singh Sidhu, Talwinder Singh Ghuman, Dharminder Singh Sekhon, Rajbhinder Singh Badesha, Ranjit Singh Dhaliwal, Balkar Singh Saini and Bittu Grewal.

He further told that Sihind Fateh Diwas celebrations would be held in Canada on May 19 by Harbant Singh Deyol president International Foundation Canada, Ashok Bawa Chairman Foundation Canada, Amarpreet Singh Aulakh convener and Tarlochan Singh Saggu.  In UK, the celebrations would be held on June 2 by Sham Sunder Bawa, Mahinder Singh Bawa Talwandi Mallian, Palwinder Singh Bhattal Hasanpur and former Mayor from Canada Gurbachan Singh Thind.

Bawa told that Baba Banda Singh Bahadar had eliminated Subedar Wazir Khan in the battle field of Chapar Chiri on May 12, 1710 aftershowing his bravery and laid foundation stone of first Sikh democratic setup. He also released coin and stamp on the name of Sri Guru Nanak Dev and Sri Guru Gobind Singh and made Mukhlasgarh (Lohgarh) the first Capital of the Sikh democratic setup. There is a need that the governments and the religious organisations should pay attention to this historic fact.

Bawa further said Baba Banda Singh Bahadar had made the farmers from farm labourers to farm owners and eliminated landlord system. He added wherever Banda Bahadar visited the farm workers turned into landlords whereas there still existed landlords system in Pakistan. He asked farmers to keep a picture of Banda Bahadar at the homes and decorate their homes with lights on May 12 as a mark of Fateh Diwas celebrations.
