Vijay N. Zade Director Department of E-Governance, Punjab reviewing the progress of pilot project of E-District Programme at Kapurthala on Thursday for providing online services by Suvidha Centres.
Kapurthala, May 9, 2013: Punjab Government is taking concrete steps to provide more online services to the masses in a better way.
This was stated by Vijay N. Zade Director Department of E-Governance, Punjab while reviewing the progress of pilot project of E-District Programme here today for providing online services by Suvidha Centres.
Zade said that Punjab government has selected Kapurthala and Saheed Bhagat Singh Nagar districts for E-District Pilot project. He said that target fixed for online services for Kapurthala district was to provide 47 services online and till now suvidha centre has been providing 40 services online, including residential certificate, SC/BC certificates, Ration Card related services, Pension Services, counter sign of documents, Birth and Death certificates (urban only), Arm License services, verification of documents, additions and corrections of Birth and Death certificates, copy of documents services are being provided by online by Suvidha Centre Kapurthala under E-District programme.
Zade said that all departments of the district has been computerized and connected with the Suvidha Centre. Under this programme applications for different services would be submitted to the suvidha centre online and for further process suvidha centre would collect required information online from the concerned department.
He said that all technical difficulties creating hindrance in the way of implementing this project will be solved soon and all services to the people will be provided in a time bound manner.
Prominent present on the occasion included Gurpreet Singh Khaira Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Rajnish Malohtra Head, State E- Mission and other officers and employees associated with this project.
