Ludhiana, May 7, 2013: Eighteen-year-old Sachin Gupta, a resident of Basant Avenue, Ludhiana who had been missing since Saturday evening, is no more. He has been founded dead on Tuesday. His has been recovered from store of a private school in the locality.
Ironically, the school is located just opposite to the house of the deceased boy. The school belonged to Davinder Singh.
Police have rounded up Davinder Singh, his son Manjit Singh, their wives and their servant Chotu.
Head injuries have been found on the Sachin’s head.
The body was witnessed inside the store room after foul smell started emanating from it.
The locality residents were seen so agitated after they learnt about the killing of Sachin. Police clam down sentiments of the locality residents and controlled the situation.
Sachin had been missing since Saturday evening and the same night, his mother Ranju Gupta had got a ransom call. It is learnt that the caller first, asked for a ransom of Rs 50 lakh. However, after a few minutes later when Ranju called at her son's number, the person at the other side asked for Rs 45 lakh. Finally, the ransom amount was reduced to Rs 30 lakh in the third call. Since then the police had been making all out efforts to locate the caller. But, the police had failed to check the locality where the family residing.
Sachin’s father is an auto part dealer Vijay Gupta.
