
Gathering during 38th Foundation Day of Baba Makhan Shah Lobana Foundation celebrations in the memory of great Sikh hero Baba Makhan Shah Lobana in Chandigarh.
Chandigarh, May 3, 2013: 38th Foundation Day of Baba Makhan Shah Lobana Foundation was celebrated in the memory of great Sikh hero Baba Makhan Shah Lobana who identified the ninth master Sri Guru Teg Bahadur.
Addressing mammoth gathering on the occasion after the bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, the President of the foundation Pritam Singh Naurangpur, highlighted the achievements and future plans of the foundation. He said besides running dispensary and Dental Clinic in the Bhawan to provide better health facilities to one and all without cast and creed, various welfare schemes has also been initiated for the community.
Speaking on the occasion, Sardara Singh Chief Engineer (Retd.) said that this Lobana Bhavan is one of the biggest bhavan in Chandigarh which was started under the Chairmanship of Col. Partap Singh in April 1975. He said that Late Col. Partap Singh played a significant role in getting 13 kanal plot allotted from the UT Administration for the Bhavan.
Giving details of contribution of the founder members of the foundation, he appreciated the services rendered to foundation by Sardar Bhagat Singh IAS (Retd.) and Justice Bakshish Kaur (Retd.) and turned them as pride of the Lobana community.
Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included Gurcharan Singh, Senior Vice President, Major Mehar Singh, former President and Major Narinder Singh Jallo, Amrik Singh Multani and Capt. Rajinder Singh.
