Ludhiana, April 29, 2013: Congress municipal councillors (MCs) staged a protest outside the offices of Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria and Municipal Commissioner Rakesh Verma for not carrying out development works in municipal ward (No. 3) despite repeated reminders.
They alleged that both the Mayor and Municipal Commissioner were making false promises to them. As a result, common people were suffering.
They alleged that the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation (LMC) employees did not adhere to the orders of Mayor and Municipal Commissioner, resulting to which works were standstill. Citing an example, they said both Mayor and Municipal commissioner had ordered for repair of Kailash Nagar road but the employees concerned did not implemented these orders.
Among others, Leader of Opposition in the general house of the Corporation Hem Raj Aggarwal, senior deputy leader Rakesh Prashar and deputy leader Sushma Mehta were present.
