Chunni Lal Bhagat, Minister of Local Bodies, Punjab while presiding over a high level meeting of the department in Chandigarh on Thursday.
Chandigarh, April 18, 2013:Providing a major relief to the urban citizens the local bodies department to decided to dispose of Change of Land Use (CLU) cases within a fortnight period.
This was disclosed by Chunni Lal Bhagat, Minister of Local Bodies in a press statement after having a high level meeting with the senior officers of the department.
The Minister added that Commissioners of Municipal Corporations and Regional Deputy Directors have been directed to decide CLU cases within fifteen days. The Minister also reviewed the progress of the Solid Waste Project. He said that the state has been divided into 8 clusters for Municipal Solid Waste processing plants. In the first phase, door to door collection of Solid Waste and its transportation to dumping sites has started in four clusters namely Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Ferozepur and Bathinda. He said that in the second phase, which has been taken up simultaneously, the Processing Plants of Solid Waste will be established by next year in all eight clusters.
The Minister also reviewed the various projects of the department. Prominent among other present in meeting included Mr. Som Parkash, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Jagpal Singh Sandhu, Principal Secretary, Priyank Bharati, Director, all Commissioners of Municipal Corporation and Regional Deputy Directors.
