Chandigarh, April 16, 2013: The Punjab Government has issued afresh order to all the department heads to ensure minute verifications of air travel claims before reimbursing to check any discrepancy, if any.
According to an official spokesman all Drawing and Disbursing Officers have also been directed to personally verify the details minutely provided by the Government Officers regarding reimbursement of air travel as some cases of discrepancy have come into the notice of the government. He said that it has come to fore that most of the officers/employees purchase the tickets from travel agents on high rates while the actual fare to the destination was not at the level of that cost, shown by the officers.
The Spokesman also said that now the reimbursement would be provided after verifying the air travel documents minutely by the concerned DDOs.
