A rally on the eve of World Water Day being organised by Bhan Singh Club at park in Block B, B.R.S. Nagar, Ludhiana on Friday.
Ludhiana, March 22, 2013: A rally on the eve of World Water Day was organised by Bhan Singh Club at park in Block B, B.R.S. Nagar here today to create awareness and propagate the message `Save Water Save Future ,Save Water ,Save Life’.
Presidents and members of Maharaja Aggarsain Sewa Sangh, Senior Citizens Welfare Association, Goodwill Association, Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, Bharat Vikas Parishad Charitable Trust participated in the rally.
All the speakers highlighted the value, importance, significance and need to save water. M.S. Dhaliwal suggested a 3R formula to save water (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle).
M.S. Makkar requested the gathering to advise their maid and servants to use water very judiciously.
S.P. Karkara I.A.S. (Retd) said that they should introspect themselves how much water they waste daily and suggested that Save Water complain should be started from their own houses. A.P.S. Mann told that according to FAO the amount of water required to produce 1Kg of wheat they need 1,500 liter of water similarly for one kg of Tomato 290kg,1 glass of Milk 200 liters whereas 1kg of eggs 4,780 liter and 1kg of meat 10,400 liters of water so they should inculcate vegetarian food habits to save water.
Suraj Jyoti said that he will try to propagate this message through the Dharmik Parchar Committee of Lakshmi Narayan Mandir.
Car washers of the area who also participated in the programme complained that people switch on their electric motors in the morning and go to sleep and water tanks over flow and the put the blame on us.
R.P. Gupta who was instrumental in organising the rally requested the participants to convey Save Water Save Life message to their neighbours, mohalla resident friends and relatives.
Ramesh Kaura, Avtar Singh Takkar, G. S. Sarna, Subhash Gupta, Shashi Gupta ,Kamlesh Gupta ,Raj Pal Gupta ,T. S. Pahwa, Ashwani Garg, Kartar Singh Sethi, N. K. Bansal, Inderjit Singh Arora , Manmohan Singh and D. S. Gulati and many more participated in the rally.
