Ludhiana, March 11, 2013: Lal Jhanda Punjab Bhatha Mazdoor Unionand Bharat Nirmaan Mazdoor Union, both affiliated to CITU, on Monday, staged a massive protest demonstration at Grain Market, Gill Road, Ludhiana.
The protest was staged against the “anti-people” policies of both Punjab and Central Governments, black-marketing of sand in Punjab and the steep hike in price of sand and other essential commodities of daily life and police repression against the common man especially the women and the downtrodden people.
Protestors were shouting slogans against the state government and the Centre as well. They were carrying Red Flags in their hands.
They regretted that they were not being paid adequate wages.
