Ludhiana, December 9, 2014: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), District Convener Ahbaab Singh Grewal termed the tragic and unfortunate death of a rape and kidnapping victim from Dhandari Khurd Ludhiana who was burnt to death by the perpetrators of the heinous crime as an avoidable tragedy had the police and administration been more sensitive to the danger posed to the brave heart who barded to stand up and identity her attackers and kept a tab on the activities of the perpetrators of this heinous crime her life could have been saved. Once the administration was aware that the attackers were out on bail they should have been extra vigilant about their activities as it was a known fact that the girl and her family were under tremendous pressure and threat. It is very sad that the police and administration are not sensitised to protecting victims of sexual abuse.
In a statement here today, he added, “AAP demands that a thorough and fair investigation should be conducted into this tragedy and perpetrators of this crime be given exemplary punishment. Police and administration should be more sensitive to wards victims of such crimes and the family of the victim be provided security and justice. AAP will do everything in its power to support the family.”
