Ludhiana, December 5, 2014: A delegation of Architects from the Indian Institute of Architects – Ludhiana Centre will be attending NATCON 2014 (Annual National Convention of Architects) at Mumbai from December 11 – December 13, 2014. The National Convention of Architects is organised by the Indian Institute of Architects every year at different locations throughout the Country. The NATCON -2013 was held at Chennai and Mumbai being the venue this year. Architects from all over the world participate in this convention and share their views. Ar Liane Lefaivre from Austria and Ar Alexander Tzonis from Greece will be the keynote speakers among many others. World renowned Indian Architects of the likes of Ar. Hafeez Contractor, Ar. Uday Gadkari, Ar. Bindra Somaya, Ar.Ratan Batliboi, Ar. Sanjay Puri will also participate in the conference.
The Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) is the national body of architects in the country. Having started in the year 1917, the Institute today has more than 15000 members. IIA is represented on various national and international committees connected with architecture, art and the building industry and is also actively associated with International Union of Architects (UIA) Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA) and South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation of Architects (SAARCH), which provide international recognition and exposure to Indian architects.
The IIA National Convention 2014 is aimed at seeking research and papers that map, analyze and evaluate the urban realities in this cusp of change. This will be a forum for interaction and deliberation on issues and options, related to urban transformation. Ludhiana is marking its place on the fast developing urban map of the country and this convention will open new options for the systematic progress of our city.
An architecture exhibition, ARCH EXPO – 2014 will also be held as part of NATCON 2014 which will have on display great brands as well as a wide range of products.
The National Convention 2014 is planned to be organised at the state-of-the-art Convocation Hall of IIT – Powai, Mumbai which is one of the top technical universities in the world, and the Arch Expo will be organised within the vicinity of this hall.
There is an expected participation of 1500+ Architects, Interior Designers, Landscape Designers, Realtors, Urban Planners, Hoteliers, Hospitality Consultants, City Managers, Academicians, Bureaucrats, Product Specifiers, Suppliers and Franchisees, Traders and Contractors, High Net-worth Individuals and many more at this convention for the translation of ideas into action.
The delegation will be headed by Centre Chairman Ar. Sanjay Goel and will comprise of Ar. Harinder Boparai, Ar. Rajan Tangri, Ar. Bimaldeep Singh, Ar. Tarsem Goyal, Ar. Amit Sanyal, Ar. Ashwani Kaushal, Ar.Aashima Gupta & Ar. Harpreet Dhillon.
