Ferozepur, November 6, 2014: “District Administration shall join ties with Education Department to save the girl child and shall encourage the parents to send their daughters to the school. The administration shall also arrange street plays, seminars to discourage the evil of the female feticide”, these views were expressed by the DPS Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur while presiding over a meeting today.
The Deputy Commissioner said that as per the instructions of Ministry of Woman and Child Development, stern actions shall be taken against those parents who support female feticide. The Deputy Commissioner said this is time change the mindset of the people about female child. He said that the government shall provide special grants to those schools which will be able to attach 100% girl children of nearby villages with themselves and shall provide them quality education. Not only this, the effort of panchayat members and teachers shall also be appreciated by the government and they will be honoured on 26th January.
The DC said that strict action shall be taken against those doctors who are still performing gender tests. He said that a special three member team including SDM and DSP (D) shall abruptly visit those.
