Ludhiana, November 5, 2014: The Communist Party of India, District Ludhiana has demanded thorough inquiry into the causes of death of Abhishek Banerjee who died under mysterious circumstances some time back. It has demanded that some senior police officer be deputed for the purpose. The police had termed the death due to drug overdose. But now after the report of viscera that there were no chemicals found the case requires through probe without any duress.
Father of Abhishek, Dr Banerjee has been saying form the very beginning that he had been murdered because he had told the name of some drug peddlers to the police secretly. Then how this leaked to the drug peddlers, the CPI leaders Kartar singh Bowani (Secretary), Dr Arun Mitra and D P Maur (Assistant Secretaries), Ramesh Rattan and Gurnam Sidhu asked in a statement here today. They demanded that it should also be probed that why Abhishek was not provided any security.
