Chandigarh, August 6, 2014: The Punjab Government has today transferred 18 IPS and 7 PPS officers on administrative grounds with immediate effect.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the Home Affairs and Justice Department said that IPS officer S.K. Sharma, on promotion, has been posted as DGP, Prisons, Punjab, Chandigarh and will also hold the additional charge of Community Policing Wing under supervision of Director General of police, Punjab Chandigarh, R.P. Singh has been posted as ADGP/Traffic, Pb, Chd, Jasminder Singh as ADGP/IT & Tele., Pb, Chd, C. Sita Ram Reddy as ADGP/Training. Pb., Chd and Director, MRS, PPA, Phillaur with Headquarters at Chandigarh, Rajpal Meena as ADGP/Provisioning, Pb, Chd, V.K. Bhawra as Director, Bureau of Investigation, Pb, Chd, Rohit Choudhary, on promotion, has been posted as ADGP/GRP, Patiala, I.P.S. Sahota as ADGP-cum-MD, PPHC, Chd. Sanjeev Kalra as IGP/Armed Battalions, Jalandhar, B.K. Garg as IGP/Law and Order, Pb, Chd, Gautam Cheema as IGP/IT & T-II, Pb, Chd, Rakesh Chandra as IGP/Commando, Bahadurgarh, Patiala, Mukwinder Singh Chinna as DIG/Information Tech, & Tele, Pb, Chd, Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh as DIG, Jalandhar Range, Yurinder Singh as Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar, Gurpreet Toor as SSP, Gurdaspur, Bikram Pal Singh Bhatty as Deputy Commissioner Police, Amritsar and IPS officer Gursharan Singh has been posted as Commandant-cum-Deputy Director, PPA, Phillaur.
Spokesperson further said that besides this, transfer and posting orders of 7 PPS officers have also been issued. He said that PPS officer Sukhwant Singh has been posted as SSP, Ferozepur, Manminder Singh as SSP, Batala, Manmohan Kumar as SSP, Tarn Taran, Jasdeep Singh Saini as SSP, Amritsar Rural, Jatinder Singh Khaira as SSP, Moga, Rajjit Singh as SSP, Hoshiarpur and PPS officer Gurpreet Singh Gill has been transferred and posted as Commandant 3rd Commando Battalion, Mohali.
