Ludhiana, February 24, 2013: Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Minister for Public Works, Punjab laid foundation stone of 66 KV sub-station in Bhagpur village alongwith K D Chowdhry, Chairman, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited and others.
The sub-station is being constructed in 2,200 sq. feet area with the cost of Rs. 4 crore.
It will be completed in four months before the paddy season.
The people living in the area of eight square meters will be benefitted by this sub-station. With the completion of this sub-station, the other two sub-stations; 220 KV sub-station at Kohara and 66 KV sub-station at Sri Bhaini Sahib will get relief as far as load is concerned.
As major industrial units are coming in this area, the construction of this sub-station will give more boost to the industry and people of the area specially youngsters will get more jobs.
Dhillon said a lots of development works going on in assembly constituency Sahnewal. The railway overbridge is being constructed at Sahnewal with the cost of Rs 20 crore. The high level bridge at Sutlej river near village Mattewara is in full swing and Rs 80 crore will be spent on it. Five roads of the area are being widened with the cost of about Rs. 40 crore. The link roads of the village which are in bad condition have been identified and soon 104 kms link roads are being repaired with the cost of about 14 crore.
Dhillon said that some roads of the area where traffic has been increased will be widened from 10 feet to 12 feet in the next financial year.
