Jail head warder accused of supplying drugs dismissed

Chandigarh, June 4, 2014: The Punjab Government has dismissed a jail police personnel involved in the supply of drugs to jail inmates, posted at central jail, Jalandhar (at Kapurthla) in its drive to curb the drugs menace in the state,  The Dismissed employee has been barred to join any Government office in future.
Giving the details, a spokesperson of State Government said that Ajmer Singh was head warder at central jail, Jalandhar (at Kapurthla). He had helped Amritpal Singh, an inmate in jail, to purchase Heroine worth Rs. 1,48,000. During the Inquiry, Ajmer Singh was found guilty. The Investigative Officer had submitted in his report that “Due to the illegal and unethical activities of the head warder, the image of the Government and Jail department has blemished so it is not in favour of the Department to continue the services of Ajmer Singh.”
The Spokesman further said that Surinder Singh, PPS Superintendent Headquarter Jail, Gurdaspur as a competent Authority dismissed Ajmer Singh and according to the rules he has been barred to join any Government office in future.
