Phoolka announces to launch `Clean Ludhiana Green Ludhiana’ campaign

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Harvinder Singh Phoolka on Friday addressing the media persons at Ludhiana.

Ludhiana, May 2, 2014: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Harvinder Singh Phoolka who contested as the party candidate from Ludhiana parliamentary seat has stated that it is a matter of shame that Ludhiana is considered as the fourth most polluted cities in the world.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, he added “AAP is launching a campaign “Clean Ludhiana Green Ludhiana” with the participation of its residents. It is a people’s campaign.”
Adding, he said through this campaign the schemes formulated included spreading awareness in the masses and persuading them to participate, tree plantation drive, launch of `one tree in every house’ campaign in rural areas, to adopt parks for plantation of the trees in urban areas and cleaning of Buddha Nullah  and restoring its original glory.
On the issue of women safety in Ludhiana city, he said women safety is a major problem in the city. A campaign for the women safety is being launched which will tackle eve teasing, crime against women and making Ludhiana safe for women. A helpline for women will be started soon; the scheme will include redressing the complaints and counseling. The coordinators of this campaign are Ramandeep Kaur and Baljit Kaur of VMAD, Sonia Victor and Anita Sharma of NGO Navkiran Women Welfare.  
He further said he is going to Hamirpur constituency for campaigning for AAP candidate tomorrow. After this on May 4 he will reach Varanasi as the party has assigned him the duty of campaigning for AAP candidates in and around there.
