A team of senior officials led by VK Sharma, senior IAS, Secretary, Revenue Department and Commissioner of Ferozepur and Faridkot Divisions on Friday visits the procurement centres of Ferozepur district to review the ongoing work of procurement of wheat.
Ferozepur, May 2, 2014: A team of senior officials today visited the procurement centers of Ferozepur City, Shande Hashm, Kulgarhi, Ferozeshah, Ratta Khera and Feroepur Cantt to review the ongoing work of procurement of wheat.
The team was led by VK Sharma, senior IAS, Secretary, Revenue Department and Commissioner of Ferozepur and Faridkot Divisions.
On the occasion, Sharma directed the procurement agencies to speed up the work of lifting of the procured stock.
Meanwhile, 590441 MTs of wheat had been procured in the mandis across the district by Thursday evening. Of the total procurement, Pungrain had procured 119923 MTs, Markfed 154704 MTs, Punjab State Ware House Corporation 74840 MTs, Punsup 115350 MTs, Punjab Agro 49749 MTs, FCI 71375 MTs, and Traders 4500 MTs.
Sharma told that so far payment worth Rs. 340.77 crore had been made to those whose crop had been procured in the mandis. He also heard problems and grievances of the farmers and issued necessary directives to the officials for sorting them out. He said the issue of lifting would be sorted out within next 2-3 days.
