Dharamsala, February 9, 2014: The Virbhadra-led Himachal Government has sanctioned development projects worth hundreds of crores for Dharamsala and its surrounding areas. This was disclosed by the Urban Development Minister Sudhir Sharma at Mandal near Dharamsala on Sunday.
Sudhir said, “In just one year this government has okayed projects worth 400 crores for the area, giving the due share to this second important city of the state after Shimla.” He said that the two major ropeways, Chamunda to Himmani Chamunda and Mecleodganj to Triund were put in the budget of next financial year to give a boost to Tourism of Dharamsala. Beside it many more steps are being taken to develop the tourism of the area.
Minister said that a monorail project was also got a budgetary nod, to overcome the traffic congestions of the area. A tree crore rupee war museum is also planned to be set up near war memorial in Dharamsala.
He said that the Centre has already allotted a Central University for Dharamsala and the foundation stone of this venture shall soon be laid.
