Pramod Kumar who joins RCF, Kapurthala as General Manager.
Kapurthala, January 4, 2014: Pramod Kumar, a Mechanical Engineer by profession and an officer of Indian Railway Services of Mechanical Engineers has taken over as General Manager of Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala. Prior to this assignment, he was working as Director General of National Academy of Indian Railways at Vadodara.
An alumni of IIT(Roorkee), Pramod Kumar joined Indian Railways in 1977. During the last 36 years, he has worked on various higher level management posts in the Indian Railways and Public Sector which includes working as Divisional Railway Manager Nanded, South Central Railway ; ADRM Kota, Western Railway; Chairman Railway Recruitment Board, Patna; Executive Director , CAMTECH, Gwalior; Sr. Professor (Mechanical Engineering) at the Railway Staff College Vadodara etc. He has also in Senior positions worked at various levels on Central Railway , RDSO Lucknow and Diesel Locomotive Works , Varanasi.
During the period 2008 -10, he worked as Chairman & Managing Director, Bharat Bhari Udyog Nigam Ltd. under Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises at Kolkata. During this tenure, he was awarded ‘Udyog Rattan’ in 2010 for `quantum increase in turn-around and profit of his whole group of companies including BBJ Construction & Braithwaite’.
His last tenure, just prior to posting as DG/NAIR, was Additional General Manager, South Eastern Railway.
He has undergone various training programmes abroad besides presenting a paper in an International Conference at USA.
