Chandigarh, September 25, 2013: The Punjab Government has appointed all the Deputy Commissioners in the state to be the District Registrars of Marriages.
Disclosing this here today, a Spokesperson said that this appointment is done under Punjab Compulsory Registration of Marriages Act, 2012.
He said that All the District Revenue Officers, Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars have appointed Additional District Registrars of Marriages, who shall register marriages, within the area of their respective jurisdiction.
