Ludhiana News- Basic life support course for police personnel held

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana on Tuesday organising a basic life support course for traffic police personnel in DMCH.

Ludhiana, September 17, 2013: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana today organised a basic life support course for traffic police personnel in DMCH.

Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Atwal inaugurated the course in Dumra Auditorium. In his message, SP Satvir Singh Atwal said that the training is very crucial as it will save the life of victims during medical emergencies.

Dr Sanjeev Uppal (Professor & Head of Plastic Surgery) informed that the objective of the course was to equip the personnel with skills that would help them save the lives of accident victims.

A team of doctors including Dr Suneet Kathuria, Professor of Anaesthesia and Dr Shekhar Singhal, Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics trained the personnel. Dr Kathuria trained the personnel on basic life support including cardiac massage, artificial breathing and various other aspects of first aid techniques for victims of accidents.

The personnel were trained on how to save human lives during emergencies and retrieving people from the vehicle, which met an accident, without causing further injuries.

Demonstrations to handle various emergency situations were also held.

Secretary of DMCH Managing Society-Sh Prem Kumar Gupta said that DMCH will be conducting such type of courses from time to time for the benefit of the society.
