Chandigarh, September 2, 2013: Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Gaggandip Singh Brar was bereaved today as he lost his grandmother Balwant Kaur (92), who passed away at Sri Muktsar Sahib this afternoon after brief illness. She is survived by two sons and a daughter. Her elder son Mit Singh Brar is the President of Municipal Council Sri Muktsar Sahib.
In a condolence message, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Balwant Kaur and prayed to Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give strength to the bereaved family, friends and relatives to bear this huge loss in this hour of grief.
According to the family sources the cremation of Balwant Kaur would take place at Sri Muktsar Sahib tomorrow (Tuesday) at 11 am.
