Khanna (Ludhiana), August 10, 2013: Punjab farmers under the banner of Bharti Kisan Union (BKU) led by Bhupinder Singh Mann, ex-MP, National President BKU and Baldev Singh Mianpur, President Punjab BKU burnt the effigy of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi at Khanna today.
Protest was staged to express strong resentment against forcing the Sikh farmers settled in Gujarat to leave their lands. They also shouted slogans against Narendra Modi.
Earlier, the BKU men held a meeting, in which the Modi Government was strongly opposed for displacing the Sikh farmers.
