Ludhiana, August 6, 2013: Generally people wait for the rain to come. However, the situation seems to be different in this industrial city.
Whenever there occurred rain, the roads in almost all parts of the city get inundated with the rain water accompanied by dirty water. The same story was repeated today also. City roads were seen flooded with the rain water causing problems to commuters especially to the school children (see the photograph).
It is very risky for the small schoolchildren to move on the roads flooded with rain and dirty water. Any mishap can occur, if there fall a big pothole or an open manhole on the way.
It is really shame on the part of the authorities who made tall claims of doing development in the city. Is this kind of development they do?
Why does the authorities, fail to find out a permanent solution to the problem? This question keeps on striking the mind of people.
