WATER level in Bhakra Dam 68.04 feet higher than last year

Chandigarh, June 25, 2013: The water level in the Bhakra Dam today recorded at a level of 1599.92 feet against 1531.88 feet last year on the same day. Water level is 68.04 feet more than as it was last year on the same day.

Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the irrigation department said that the water level of pong Dam has been recorded at 1320.25 feet which is 23.94 feet more than it was recorded last year that is 1296.31 feet. Similarly the water level of Ranjit Sagar Dam on 25 June, 2013 touched 512.90 meter mark which is 13.45 meter more than the water level recorded last year on the same day.

He further said that the inflow of water in Bhakra is 52128 cusec against 42501 last year and the release from Bhakra Dam is 32783 cusec against 29500 cusec last year. Inflow of water in pong Dam has been recorded as 17401 cusec against 12005 cusec on the same day last year and inflow of water in Ranjit Sagar Dam is 12468 cusec against 11293 cusec and release from Ranjit Sagar Dam is 15977 cusec against 6001 cusec release on the same day last year.

He further said that the rain fall in major cities of the state during last 24 hours has been recorded as Amritsar 27 mm, Bathinda 34 mm, Kapurthala 40 mm, Fatehgarh  sahib 43 mm, Ferozpur  48 mm, Pathankot 57 mm, Jalandhar 59 mm, Ludhiana 64 mm, Moga 81 mm, SAS Nagar 86, Mukatsar 88 mm, SBS Nagar 93 mm, Patiala 95 mm and Ropar 101 mm.
