AAP Ludhiana conducts RTI Workshop

Ludhiana, June 23, 2013: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Ludhiana organised a RTI workshop on Sunday at Circuit House here, in which volunteers and general public were encouraged towards using RTI more and more.

The workshop was concentrated on how to use RTI and its importance alongwith other legal rights such as Consumer Affairs, Human Rights, PIL and others.

AAP, Ludhiana also honored RTI Activists for their achievement in past. 

City’s known RTI Activist and District Secretary Balbir Aggarwal was honored with Life Time Achievement Award in the field of RTI.

Gulshan Kumar, Paramjeet Singh and Sarabjeet Singh Kahlon were other RTI Activists who were honored. 

The aim was to strengthen RTI and to use it as a mass weapon against wide spread corruption.

District Secretary Balbir Aggarwal said the day only 10% of public strongly raises voice against corruption, the corruption at lower levels, in daily public offices would come to an end. Party wants that its volunteer should tackle the problems of local residents in their areas.

All members were interested in learning the Right to Information Act.

The gathering was apprised about consumer affairs and human rights.

State Convener Harjot Singh Bains presided over the workshop.

Among others, District Convener Ramesh Singla, Kanav  Vats and Kamal Saini, Kamal Sharma, Jinder Pal Gupta, Davinder Singh, Gobind Kumar, Mohit Mittal, Sandeep Singla, Ravinder Singh Toni, Navrattan Singh, Lovish Bangia, Bahadur Singh, Kanta Joshi, Harmeet Kaur, Sonia Victor, Paramjeet Singh, Rajesh Gupta were also present.
